We strive to maintain technological and quality leadership in flexible diamond abrasives and high- precision metallised fabrics — driving the global transition from conventional abrasives to superior, sustainable solutions.

At KGS DIAMOND, our values define who we are. They guide how we innovate, manufacture, and collaborate — combining Swiss precision with global expertise to deliver lasting value.
Where we started
Family roots in Swiss craftsmanship KGS DIAMOND traces its heritage to Giovanni Ferronato, who founded a family business in Lugano, Switzerland, manufacturing moulded products. This entrepreneurial spirit laid the foundation for a tradition of precision and innovation that continues today.

The beginning of KGS DIAMOND Natale Ferronato establishes Natale Ferronato & Co. near Zürich to produce cold-bonded quality abrasives for grinding and polishing stone and cast iron. His relentless pursuit of improvement and innovation becomes the DNA of KGS — a mindset that still drives the company.

Innovation and transition New technologies define this era: sintering production methods (1962), the first sintered diamond blades sold in Switzerland (1964), and the introduction of flexible diamond abrasives (1985).
After Natale’s passing of management to Maryse Ferronato (1970), Sandro Ferronato joins in 1980, continuing the family leadership that remains to this day. The company is rebranded as KGS DIAMOND, derived from the German “Keramik, Glas, Stein” — ceramics, glass, and stone.

KGS grows into a global group with subsidiaries in The Netherlands, France, Spain, Hungary, the UK, China, Germany, Australia, and the USA. Key milestones include:

Today — A global family of innovation KGS continues to expand across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas, opening branches in Stans, Dubai, Bangalore, Singapore, and Nanjing. With 21 branches in 15 countries, the Ferronato family still leads KGS as one of the world’s foremost abrasives technology groups — combining Swiss engineering, global expertise, and a passion for sustainable innovation.
